Remote Learning Procedures
Please keep in mind that this version of remote learning is new for all of us. It is my hope to be able to create a classroom community, similar to that of an in-person classroom. I know that my students are capable of great things! Together, we will learn and have fun - despite the unforeseen circumstances. Below are some remote learning procedures our class will utilize this year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Fox.

Technology Platforms
The 4 main technology platforms our class will be using are:
The Clever app will log students in automatically to any other app. Individual student log-in information will be emailed to you.
AttendanceAttendance will be taken each morning at 7:50. A student who is not present at the 7:50 Zoom will be marked absent.
If your child is going to be absent, please call to report them using the attendance line by dialing 815-838-8020 and then pressing 1. AssignmentsStudents will be responsible for several activities each day. These activities may be assigned via Seesaw or Google Classroom. Please refer to your child's daily assignment notebook for details regarding each day's assignments.
Please ensure your child's assignments are submitted by 3:00 PM daily. Any assignment submitted past 3:00 PM will be marked as late. The exception to this is the Weekend News, which is due by 7:50 each Monday. Zoom EtiquetteBelow are some guidelines for our class Zooms. Please note that each teacher may have different guidelines for Zoom etiquette.
GradingStudents will be graded using traditional grades of A, B, C, D, F.
Teachers will also give feedback in a variety of ways that address standards for each grade level and subject area. CommunicationDuring remote learning, communication skills between all involved is extremely important.
Mrs. Fox will be available to answer questions/concerns until 3:00 PM. Emails sent beyond 3:00 PM may not be answered until the next morning. I will be tweeting pictures of activities we are doing throughout the year. Tweeting will allow you to follow along with our exciting educational adventures.
I will only ever tweet pictures and first names. A child’s personal information (last name, address, etc.) are ALWAYS kept private. If you DO NOT want pictures of your child tweeted, please feel free to contact me via email at [email protected]. |
Schedule
Students will be responsible for Zooming each day. Subjects that will be addressed via Zoom include: morning check-in/SEL, calendar, reading, math, and specials. Once students have adjusted to the rigor of remote learning, Mrs. Fox will arrange a time to meet with each student individually for progress monitoring. Your child's individual Zoom schedule will be emailed you directly. Learning TimeSynchronous Learning
Students will participate with their teachers and classmates in live learning experiences.
Asynchronous Learning AKA: Independent Activity Time Each school day will have time for asynchronous learning. This is time that students will be working on work independently, rather than on class Zoom. This time will vary depending on each student's schedule. Mrs. Fox will be available to answer questions during this time. Students should utilize this time to work on their Seesaw and Google Classroom assignments for the day. This would also be a good time to practice skills learned in OT, Speech, Social Work, etc. Other activities students can complete during this time include:
BehaviorStudent behavior will be monitored through the Class Dojo app. Parents were invited individually to access how their child is behaving throughout the day. If you need more information on how to join Class Dojo, please email Mrs. Fox.
Parent/Teacher MeetingsAll meetings will take place via Zoom. This includes IEP meetings, check-ins, and parent/teacher conferences.
